I agree but man their lentils are so good. I don't like that their stuff is microwaved either.
King palace The best !
Yes, is does.
Yes
"Ever wondered what happens when you microwave the same food too many times and leave it sitting unrefridgerated for 19 hours a day?"
It’s not a high end Indian place. I am going to rate you just based on the food. I mean sitting area and washrooms are not there for a romantic date. Most of the customers are taxi drivers. The food is not bad at all. I had Channa with naan and it was yummy for sure. I also had nihari and chicken wasn’t a big fan. Channa was amazing. I wish you guys call this place dhaba have Punjabi music and make it look like a dhaba. It will be more famous and will give you what it really is.Overall good experience.Thank you
Ordered food from here today. TOTALLY SHOCKED! I opened my food and it was so cold. The food appeared to have been sitting for days and when microwaved, has an awful smell. I advise folks to avoid this place as it may be unsafe to eat. Never again. Wouldn't even give them a 1 star.
Great food at great prices. What it lacks in decor and ambiance, it makes up with the food. They have a huge selection of chicken, beef and vegetarian dishes, and the dishes have large portion sizes. The butter chicken and the chicken tikka masala are a must try!
I love the taste of most of their foods. Everything here is very well done made, but every chicken order that we made was all bones inside the stew and it was very hard to eat! I rather have my meal specially stews with boneless chickens. Regardless of chicken menu the rest of their meals are absolutely delicious and supper hot which I really like.
Great service ever , girl who work on front is very welcoming always with her smiling face , delicious food ..
food used to be good in the past, not now. These guys may charge extra if u don't check your bill. They will charge tax on top of ur actual bill, they will try not to print the bill, they will say the machine is not working to print the bill which is weird. They will ask you to pay by cash. The quality and taste of food have have greatly changed.
Amazing food. The staff are very nice aswell. Clean spot. Will go here again
Great place to Indian/ Pakistani food, the place is clean, affordable and customer service is exceptional. Especially due to COVID-19 I see the staff taking extra precautions to ensure all health and safety guidelines! Support a small business and have some great food while you're at it.
As others have said, this place WAS 5 star worthy. Quality, Taste, and Portions went down as Prices went up. Today is the last day I go there or recommend it to people.
The taste is actually pretty good. But all the food is heated with the microwave....My dish was even cold in the centre.
Been going here for years. My favorite dishes are the butter chicken with naan and kashmiri chicken. The quality is hit or miss (sometimes it's boneless chicken other times it's full of bones and fat). Also, the food is cold so they microwave it warm. It is quite expensive, especially for inconsistent quality and reheated food. However, the good flavor (that's not overwhelmingly spicy) and convenient location downtown keeps me coming back.
King palace very good oner and workers and food we love it
Food tasted not exceptional but pretty good. This place stays open till very late, so if you get hungry and nothing is open this is a good place to stop by. The service is also very good, considering it is almost like a self-serve place still cashiers come to the table to drop off food and clean up with a smile.
I'm torn about this place. The service was good for the most part but the waitress was a bit rude. I found the entrees to be somewhat agreeable to my personal flavor-profile. Overhyped. I had a satisfactory experience and will have to try it again.
This is a nice small clean place with lots of Indian and Pakistani food options.
This is my favourite place and I’ve been going there for over 10 years. The owners are the nicest people you could ever meet and the food is amazing. When I read the reviews about the « microwaving » I really wonder why those people try to find something negative about that place. Please go and try it !
I love the kheer, or rice pudding as they call it.Good non-vegetarian options with authentic Indian flavour, my friends suggested.Although I have had vegetarian recipes only which I won't recommend yet I'm in love with the sweet options and would surely try Sheer Khurma next time!
Wonderful experience. I went King Palace Restaurant after few Months and it was wonderful experience this time looks like its new management, Staff was very friendly, Food I ordered was much better then last time. I’ll go again soon and I’ll recommend everyone must visit and try there food👨🍳 🥘 .RoMi
Food was very flavourful and tasty. Lamb and beef were tender, I recommend the lamb karahi. I would come back again!
Their food is too good . Its super delicious. Naveed give me very good service. Really appreciated. You should visit this king palace restaurant.
Worst butter chicken ever...ordered butter chicken and naan from uber. Asked them to make little spicy. But chef took it too serious and put all chillies in my order. There was a thick layer of oil on the top which made it impossible to eat.Don’t even think of this place if you want to eat good food. Had to throw out whole order.
The food is very good specially the malai kofta is just awesome. And don’t forget to taste the tea. I am sure you will forget about coffee. I like their behaviour as well.
This is hands down the best Indian restaurant I have tried. They have a variety of choices for both vegetarians and meat eaters. I would recommend calling ahead and placing and order if you are really hungry. There is usually a wait but the wait is totally worth it.
Be aware!! Dont eat there. They use left over food from the customers plate. Whatever food even gravy left over after customer eat they put it back on their main tray and use for next customer or take out delivery. I have seen that while waiting for my order. By mistake they gave my order to different table and customer was already eating. When they realize they took the plate back clean the side and fill up with more gravy and tried to give it to me. Didnt realize i was watching their show. When i told them they took it back to kitchen and gave me from the display tray. Within 1 minute i heard the take order is ready from the kitchen exactly what i order. I m sure it was the same plate which they tried to serve me.its very expensive as well. Looks like i will be enjoying the washroom all day tomorrow. Already feeling the vibe.
The best restaurant in Downtown. The girl at the counter with a tattoo is very hardworking, it was really busy last night but she made sure we got everything we needed and despite of the rush, she kept smiling and welcoming people. Their Naans are the best in town! 5 star service and food.
Tl;Dr: Horrible quality of food! I don't know how it's legal to be in business!I arrived just as the restaurant opened at 11AM, and assumed it would take at least another hour to get everything ready. To my shock, I saw the staff simply open the covers of what I'm quite sure was the leftover food from the previous day and just stir it to make it look like it was prepared that morning. Even after seeing all this, I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and think that it was made early that morning, but after eating it I realized I was right. The chicken tasted bad, not in flavor but in quality. As if it was left outside overnight. The rice also smelled stale. This is stale food that isn't even refrigerated, served the next day. Please do not eat from this restaurant if you don't want to fall sick.
This place has been a neighborhood staple for a while. Reading past reviews there was a change in ownership. The food is okay. The spices could use some work. I was confused. The food is sitting on hot plates but the server microwaved every meal. Does that mean the food is sitting at room temperature behind the serving glass? The price point is a bit high for what you're getting. I hope this places turns around.
The food was fresh, properly prepared and a great value for the price. I just want to say that, in addition to a nice meal, i had a delightful server named Virpal. She had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency.
One of the best place I have eaten. The service was very good and the girl on the front was very pleasant and helpful. I would love to come back and try more items that I missed this time 😍😍😍
only single advice sir please tech your staff about customer service girls at counter are extremely rude and unprofessional
worst customer service rude with every customer was there for 30 mins & did not see single customer happy every single customer come with complain dont remember employee name but she have tattoo in hand never seen attitude at work before like her extremely rude with customers
a day ago#microwaved foodFood is really bad(not warm) and tasteful nothing bad with food But the owners and his friend's has clear some issue with Indian people. Avoid at all if you are from India. In my case, never back at such a place.Only one server ,not proper hospitality, too late for any order,The food is too cold when they serving!! Also expensive from other restaurants!!
This place has great number of items even at 2 in the morning. Food was good.
Great variety of curries that will satisfy even the most die-hard curry connoisseurs out there. Highly recommended!
Stopped by on our rare walk during the crisis. The young man at the counter was wonderful. He recommended the best options for us and the food was generously served. I thought it was spiced very well, the butter chicken was great as were a lot of the bone-in meats. Great service with a smile, thank you and we will definitely be back!
My first experience with King palace was amazing !! Actually, i went there to have chicken biryani for the lunch but due to some reason it was finished . The owner AMAR recommended me to try chicken curry which turned out to be too delicious😋
I use to get my lunch every Friday at King place for years, when I was studying up there in Toronto. Now, I went back to Saudi Arabia and always missing this restaurant. Inshallah, surely I'll visit them first thing when I travel to Toronto.
The food here was by far the best tasting indian food I've ever had! And indian food is my favorite food!
The owner is a rip off. I am Asian so when I went in to get something to take out, I asked for a combo and he made me a $16 something combo ( one rice and three separate dishes) and that’s it. Later on I came to know that i was suppose to get a pop with it. Not sure if one naan roti is also suppose to be added to it (being a combo). I am Asian but I know Hindi so his dealing with me and with Indian customer was totally different. I know cause I can understand when he speaks Hindi with other customers. Be careful when u go there. Make sure to ask for what all is included cause if not there is no honesty as to give what ur suppose to get on their (the owners) own. I have lived in India and know how things work. Aleahs ready to rip off people. I will never go there again and will not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends or known ones.
Trays loaded with varieties of veg and non veg dishes, it's not prepared hot but fresh and tasty. Must try kashmiri chicken, panner dishes, naans. Came with a friend recommended as this was his regular. Would come again if around this place. It like dhabha open for nights life and workers. Forgot to mention about their taste full rasmalai
Still one of the best spots for late night Desi cravings. Definitely worth it. Bit too pricey off late, but taste is still the same..
Not a good experience. Close to my home so i thought to give it a try. Chicken biryani was bad bad bad. Rice were stale. Like they cooked 2 or 3 days ago and were serving the same left over stuff. Chicken and lamb curry was just ok. Server was polite. Won't be returning here again. 1 star.
Fairly grungy Pakistani restaurant but that is part of the experience. I really do like their food, especially given the paucity of authentic-ish Pakistani restaurants in Downtown Toronto. I would recommend their Nihari, Haleem and Karahi Chicken. Their naan is very good as well, albeit a bit pricey. Nice dessert options as well.
Worst experience of life. Went to king palace in the evening tending to get good delicious Pakistani food, ended up buying chicken biryani with my whole family. (Four of us) we took the food home to eat it and we all ate around 10pm. After a couple of hours we all started puking, all four of us. We went to the hospital and little did we know their biryani gave us food poisoning, we had to stay in the hospital for a whole entire day since the poisoning was so deadly.... extremely disgusting food and service. The prices are way too high looking at their service and their food. Honestly the most nastiest place I’ve ever experienced. Deserves zero stars.
Reheated microwaved food that doesnt taste fresh. The naan is great. Service is ok. But I tried their butter chicken which is normally a standard dish and it tasted oily and not buttery. The sauce had separated from reheating over an diver again. Not fresh. I would not go back. They take your food and microwave it to warm it up for you. Food variety is good. Veggies seemed better but I didnt try it. I wont have their meat again. It doesnt live up to toronto standards.
Best Indian/Pakistani restaurant in GTA for the taste, variety and prices. I spoke to the owner 10 years ago it's very spicy and reduce at least %30 spice and you will be a billionaire in 2 years. So many people in Toronto love Indian food but just can't handle over spicy. Owner never listened and guess what today after 10 years he was still standing behind the cash register like he just opened the place last week
Nice place for late night Indian food. Do not expect the food to be super- hygienic or the place to be fancy. Taste is good (although inconsistent at times) but stay off the spicier items if you don't want a heartburn.Bonus points for having parking available!
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!This place used to be amazing! Key words “used to”.. food is horrible and borderline unsafe to eat. It’s been sitting out in room temperature all day if not multiple days. Not spiced right at all extremely bland. The worst thing is they are crooks they will add random fees onto your bill. So if you actually decide to visit this gross restaurant triple check your bill, so you don’t get scammed!
Use to really love this place but they changed the taste of the butter chicken from sweet to spicy. So I have to drop it to 4 stars.
